SInce 2000, the Rotary Club of Newtown has been recognizing and honoring the outstanding students in Newtown each month of the school year.  Although the program is sponsored by the Rotary Club, the students are selected by their respective schools based on their individual efforts related to Community Service, Citizenship, Resiliency, Positive Attitude, and Self-directed Learning.  The schools participating in the program are:

Reed Intermediate School- one student from the 5th grade and one student from the 6th grade.

Newtown Middle School- one student from the 7th grade and one student from the 8th grade.

St. Rose School- one student.

Newtown High School- one student.
