Rotary International is made up of 32,000 clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas with over 1.2 million members. Rotary Clubs throughout the world contribute an estimated $100 million each year to charitable causes. The amount of labor and personal funds contributed by Rotarians for worthwhile projects everywhere is immeasurable. Rotarians also receive a lot of pleasure while doing good work in our local communities as well as other parts of the world. Visit www.rotary.org for a more comprehensive view of the power of Rotary.
Please take a few minutes to browse through our Newtown Rotary website to get an idea of some of our local and regional activities we support. While a certain amount of fund raising is essential to our mission, it is the hands-on projects we do that provide much of the pleasure of being a Rotarian. More hands and more fun is an expression that helps keep our focus on what Rotary is all about.
As a salesman, let’s deal with the objections to becoming a Rotarian right up front: We meet every Monday night except when there is a major holiday in the week. I’m too busy and don’t have the time. It is too expensive. Please ask yourself if the community of the world has been kind to you and your family and you feel fortunate to be alive. Join us in helping others realize that gratification you have realized if the answer is “yes.” We can give your spirits a lift through the good things we do for other people and the camaraderie we offer if the answer is “no.”
Don’t wait to join Rotary—contact us now.
