A 3rd "Gift of Life"
In March, 2015, Newtown Rotary’s Gift of Life Project has saved the life of another child. Two year old Bezalel Alquilos from the Philippines received the lifesaving heart surgery recently at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. While in the U.S., Bezalel and his mother, Hazel, were hosted by Rotarian Dan Rosenthal and his family. Pictured are Dan with his children Hana (holding Bezalel), Ben and Emi, his wife, Meri, and Hazel.
Newtown Rotary Makes A "Gift of Life"
On January 30, 2014, a beautiful young girl received the Gift of Life with help from Newtown Rotary. The prognosis for 3 year old Genesis Fuentes from the country of Belize was dire due to congenital heart problems; her life expectancy was only another 12 to 18 months. Newtown Rotary in partnership with Gift of Life International sponsored the lifesaving open heart surgery to repair Genesis' heart. For more details see the story in The Newtown Bee.

In August, 2014, Arben Lajqi and Leona Hoti, 2 children from Kosova recently received life saving medical procedures through the Gift of Life Intiative. Arben and Leona are pictured below with family and friends. For more details on their story see the article in The Newtown Bee.
